The 83rd yearly Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade rocked the world city New York today, Thursday, the 26th November 2009.

The three-hour began at 77th Street & Central Park West in festive New York City at 9am. It is an annual parade presented by Macy’s.

This year the parade took a new path around Manhattan, the parade skipped Broadway and instead took to Columbus Circle and Seventh Avenue, from 77th street down to Mary’s flagship store on 34th Street.

This year’s parade includes 1,500 dancers, cheerleaders, singers and performers; 15 giant character balloons; 800 clowns; 35 novelty or ornament balloons, balloonheads and balloonicles; 24 floats; 10 marching bands; and a slew of celebrity performers.
